You came to me all chubby and dull The doctor said you were not well ‘Four pounds must go’ they frowned, saying you were a slacker No mice had been chased, no squirrels set a chatter They said that you’re lazy, you don’t like to play All you do all day long is sleep your day away. I looked in your eyes, so green and so deep, no life lived in them, you were a sad heap.
The Poetry option under MORE doesn't allow much in the way of formatting. The main problem, I think, is with getting the lines breaks right. There are no line breaks when I view your poem on my desktop but I look at it on my phone, the lines do not beak the same way.
I copied the first two stanzas of your poem and used the Poetry option. The spacing between lines was off but that can be adjusted with the delete button. The stanzas came out perfectly in groups of 4 lines when viewed on my desktop but there will still be breaks in the lines when viewed on a phone.
Beautiful poem! Beautiful cat! Very sweet!
Thanks so much! He’s a cool cat now!
Thank you for the restack
Welcome home sweet little furball 😻
Indeed. He’s lived with me a good long time now, and has remembered how to do the “😂zomies”
(Perhaps someday, one of the true poets on Substack will show me how to make it publish the way I really wanted it, which was a 4 line stanza) sigh. 🤭

Thank you Paul. I had not previously seen that option. I appreciate the input.

A small shout of glee rises up from the crowd (me and my cat)
That worked❣️ thanks again.
May your kindness also flow back to you times ten.
Happy to help. Feel free (with glee).
I’m good at experiencing the glee 🤭
