Ode to Rain

The sky is weeping again today,

As though it is sad the sun is hiding.

At times torrential, pounding on the roof

Leaking down the chimney, wet soot scents the room.

Lovely daisies bow down to worship at its feet

Swallowing the gift saving up for tomorrow

The ducks and geese are hiding now

As though gliding thru it hurts

The phases of its falling move like a waltz,

First a hard downbeat then the twirling drizzle.
